Linking external Database by changing settting.php

Hi, I am new to drupal. We are now building a website based on drupal CERN theme.
And, we are planning to insert some views which shows the updating data information from our detector.
The detector information is stored in another DB inside cern and updates about 10 min.

However, I need to access setting.php which is not possible for me to access through webdav.
It shows the message that not enough permission.

Can I asked how can I modify settting.php ? Or, is there other options for me?

Hi zqu,

settings.php file is not open to be modified by users, so only Drupal infrastructure administrators can do it.

For this to work, I would encourage you to open a request under https://cern.service-now.com/service-portal/report-ticket.do?name=request&se=Drupal-Service so we will follow up there how to proceed.
