Preventing spam mails sent from contact form

Hi there,

We have received a couple of SPAM messages from unverified users via one of our Contact Form.
On Drupal 7, there was modules like reCAPTCHA etc. But I am uncertain if this will help for our case.

Are there a guideline to prevent spam from contact form?

Same module applies for Drupal 8 sites.

Just the configuration is a bit different, but should be well explained in the documentation of the module
