Where can I find the Megaslider module for Drupal 8?

I need to transfer the content of a website created with Drupal 7 to the new Drupal 8 website. In this context, I need the Megaslider module to transfer also the slideshow figuring in the home page of the website https://charm.web.cern.ch/ .

Could you please tell me which is the procedure to do this?

Thank you in advance!

Hi Valentina,

It seems that your Drupal 7 website doesn’t use the CERN theme but another one. Also, I can’t find a version for megaslider module in Drupal 8. The person who created your Drupal 7 website must have made a custom implementation.

If you request the content of your website to be migrated to Drupal 8 by the admins, they will migrate it using the default Drupal 8 CERN theme and you need to work with it to make it look nice again. They perform only content migration so don’t expect your website to look exactly of how it was in Drupal 7.

Once you migrate it to Drupal 8 I propose that you use the Hero header which is provided by the CERN theme https://drupal-tools.web.cern.ch/docs/modules/landing-page/web-components/hero-header

Have a look at the https://drupal-tools.web.cern.ch to see the rest of the components that the theme provides by default.

Hi Sotirios,

Thank you so much for your time!

I find the Hero header very good, however is it normal that the pictures don’t occupy the entire screen (I mean the borders are white?).

I couldn’t use the CDS file extension, maybe is it for this reason?

Thank you in advance.

Cheers,
Valentina

Hi Valentina,

Probably is something in the configuration. What is the name of your website?

The website is https://test-radwg.web.cern.ch/home . Should I add you as CERN Registered user or are you able to see it?

That’s because you put the image in the Subtitle field of the Hero Frame and not in its Background settings.

I have added the first one for you. Do the other two in the same way.

Thank you so much for your help!!

Dear @sboutas,

I am updating https://charm.web.cern.ch/about-charm and I noticed that vertical pictures are not displayed entirely. Contrary to the previous website https://radwg.web.cern.ch/home, I selected “centered content” because I prefer that pictures are not too big and are displayed at the center.
Do you know I can solve this problem?

In addition, the slider timer seems not to work…
Thank you in advance!

Cheers,
Valentina

Dear Valentina,

This is because you use them in Full height and that’s the default behaviour. In the other website you use the Hero header in half hight and it displays more information of the vertical images when it tries to center them.
