Hover pop-up / mouseover detect?

Dear all,

Could you please if it is possible to install the mouseover detect or hover pop-up and if yes, how to proceed in order to use it in our sites?

Thank you.
Best regards,
Katerina

Hi Katerina

I assume you are referring to https://www.drupal.org/project/mouseover_detect? I cannot immediately find the hover pop-up module, however. In the case of mouseover_detect, you can certainly go ahead and install it and otherwise follow the instructions noted on the project page. However, kindly note that doing this sort of customisation would require you to ensure the module remains updated and compatible moving forward. The same would apply to the hover pop-up module, of course,

That said, without knowing what you are trying to achieve, managing mouse hovers and triggering a modal to pop-up or similar is very easy to achieve using basic HTML / CSS and potentially some JavaScript or jQuery. It all depends on what exactly you want to achieve…?

Thanks!

Hello Joachim,

What we wish to do is like at this page: Your own Hover-Over-Popups, CSS/XHTML-friendly - Nic Höning

like the first example the “some text”.

Could you please advise how to proceed, given that I am not a programmer?

Thanks again,
Regards
Katerina

Dear Guillermo,

Thank you for your suggestion.
This seems to be exactly what we need: Simple Popup Views | Drupal.org

Could you please guide me through the steps to follow to install this module in our Drupal site?

Thanks again,
Regards,
Katerina

Dear Katerina

I will recommend you to consult some documents of the forum if you have any doubts do not hesitate to ask

If your PC is MAC you must use the Cyberduck program, please consult the following link (Cyberduck section)

Hi Katerina

This guide outlines how to access WebDAV using Cyberduck: https://drupal-tools.web.cern.ch/access-webdav-using-cyberduck. You can follow this guide on how to install (or update) a module via WebDAV. In any event, kindly note that installing modules in this fashion requires you to assume responsibility for future maintenance in the event that the module becomes incompatible with the Drupal Core.

Thanks!
